Since July 2016, a tourist tax has been levied on all Balearic Islands. On Ibiza, this fee ranges from €1 to €4 per night, depending on the accommodation. This tax is often not included in the total cost of hotels, so you may have to pay it directly on-site at check-in or check-out.

The charming town of Ibiza offers a variety of shopping opportunities and a beautiful old town that is definitely worth a visit. Shopping enthusiasts will be in heaven here. One of our top tips is also to visit the hippie markets, where you will encounter a variety of unique offerings. If you want to see more of the island, you can also embark on an adventurous trip by renting a classic car to explore the hidden coves and secret spots of the island.

Long hiking trails along the coast of Ibiza also provide an opportunity for a hiking vacation filled with fun and adventure as well as stunning views. There is something for every type of traveler on Ibiza.

There are probably few places in the world where the celebrations are as lively as in Ibiza. Famous clubs like Pacha, Amnesia, and Privilege host spectacular parties. Especially the 'Opening Parties' at the beginning of the season in late May and the 'Closing Parties' in September are a big deal - partying day and night! But even during the season, the parties here are as lively as almost nowhere else. The techno music and hot beats make you want to dance and keep vacationers energized.

The Most Famous Clubs in Ibiza

The most famous club in Ibiza, recognized by most, is Pacha. It is not only the most well-known but also the oldest club on the island. Stars like David Guetta and the Swedish House Mafia have performed here, and it's not uncommon to see celebrities partying in the VIP lounges. The most famous parties on the island take place here, ensuring Ibiza remains the leading clubbing destination in the world.

Amnesia is also one of the most famous clubs in the world. Host to foam parties and other special events with modern dance music, Amnesia offers numerous specials and is always good for surprises. Unforgettable parties can be celebrated here with the biggest names in electronic music.

You can also find the largest club in the world here in Ibiza - Privilege! Its gigantic size reminds many guests of an aircraft hangar. There's no need to mention that this massive club can accommodate an incredible number of people. Crazy parties are thrown in this extraordinary venue, known for its legendary open-air parties that attract numerous guests in the warm summer temperatures of Ibiza.

The Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel debuted in 2011. It attracts visitors with a fantastic location and an open-air stage by the pool. It combines living and partying, and has become a well-known hotspot for partygoers with prominent guests like Martin Garrix and Kygo.

New in 2017, Hï Ibiza opened its doors. Since then, this club has hosted some of the biggest names in the electronic music scene like Armin van Buuren and welcomed thousands of party enthusiasts.

Tips & Tricks for Party Freaks

Ibiza Town at Sunset

Most clubs are located in the districts of San Antonio and Playa d'en Bossa. For party-goers, it makes sense to book a hotel in one of these areas. If you want to have a party right at your hotel and are willing to spend a bit more, the Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel is worth a look. However, other hotels in these party towns also provide easy access to the clubs. During the party season, there is a party bus that stops in front of certain hotels or at nearby bus stops, taking vacationers directly to the clubs. Taxis in Ibiza are also not more expensive than in Germany. From Ibiza Town or San Antonio to Playa d'en Bossa or vice versa, you will pay around €10-15. Compared to other vacation spots, that's a reasonable price for a taxi ride.

If the club is in the same town as your hotel, we recommend a lovely walk around Ibiza. There's plenty to see here even in the evening! Entry fees to clubs vary; however, with our first vacation guru secret tip, you can definitely get the tickets cheaper. Buy them from so-called promoters on the beaches or in the town center. Tickets here often cost less than at the club's box office. Promoters usually have good deals for multiple clubs. Therefore, if you don't want to shell out €50 or more at the box office, it's better to purchase your entry tickets in advance.

Ibiza Tips for Beaches and Coves

Playa d'en Bossa

Of course, a trip to the Balearic Islands would not be complete without a refreshing dip in the sea and relaxing on the beach. Most hotels also offer their own pools, but nothing quite compares to the unique vacation feeling of the ocean! Even though Ibiza is mainly known for its large clubs with good music, the island also has some stunning beaches to offer. Relaxing under the sun umbrella on a lounge chair after a long party night and listening to the waves sounds pretty good, right?

The longest beach on the island, measuring 2 km, is Playa d'en Bossa. Here, you can find everything from trendy beach bars to sports activities like pedal boating or banana boating. The beach offers a beautiful view of Ibiza's old town and is perfect for long beach strolls. It's also great for families!

Sa Caleta

Sa Caleta Beach (Es Bol Nou) is located about a 15-minute walk from Ibiza Town or Playa d'en Bossa. Here you will find beautifully clear water, a red cliff, and many rocks. The beach is slightly secluded and is very suitable for children, as it is very shallow at the bay. A beach restaurant and a small kiosk provide plenty of refreshments.

Cala Salada

A small sandy cove about a fifteen-minute drive from San Antonio is called Cala Salada and is a preferred destination for boat owners. Despite the crystal-clear water, there aren't many tourists at this beach. Possibly because it's only accessible by car. A trip there is definitely worthwhile, not just for the excellent food. A few meters from the beach are the caves of Ses Fontanelles. The walk may take a while, but it offers an incredibly beautiful view as a reward!

Santa Eulalia

The main beach of Santa Eulalia attracts many visitors with its fine, light sand and clean, shallow water. It's also ideal for children or water sports. Along the promenade, you can find not only cafés and restaurants but also small shops inviting you for an afternoon stroll.

Beaches of Portinatx

The town of Portinatx in the beautiful northern part of Ibiza has three wonderful beaches for vacationers: the largest is 'S'Arenal Gros', the slightly smaller 'S'Arenal Petit', and 'Playa Porto'. All three beaches are situated in the town and offer a wide range of shops, bars, and restaurants.

The fascinating cove Cala Comte is located in the southwest of Ibiza and welcomes you with the most beautiful sea shimmering in various shades of turquoise. It definitely gives you a Caribbean vibe. Relax in the fine sand, enjoy the laid-back atmosphere at the Sunset Ashram beach restaurant, and watch the locals celebrate life with songs, dances, and acrobatics. A visit to Cala Comte is simply special and will surely remain a memorable vacation experience.

Ibiza Shopping Tips

Both locals and tourists on Ibiza can find everything their heart desires - from Spanish supermarkets to stylish boutiques. Most shops adhere to traditional opening hours as known in Germany. However, smaller shops might also be open seven days a week, just like some supermarkets. It is important to note that many shops in Ibiza open and close according to their preference, particularly smaller stores. Otherwise, you can pay almost everywhere in Ibiza with credit cards, should there be no ATM nearby.

The goods, some of which originate from the hippie era, are otherwise only available in selected vintage shops! Whether it's striking hair accessories or stylish skirts - it's a shopper's paradise. One special Ibiza tip from us is to visit the concept store Sal de Ibiza. Here you'll find everything from unique, trendy clothes to interior design. The high-quality products are impressive and guarantee a visit that is definitely worth it.

Our absolute favorite is numero 74 l'atelier ibiza, which we want to recommend to you as Vacation Guru Tip #3. Here you will not only find the most beautiful decorative items and clothing but also a colorful array of various creative workshops.

Ibiza Dining and Drinking Tips

If you want to dine out in Ibiza, you will be greeted by a variety of restaurants, cafés, and bars. Sa Punta in Talamanca is particularly recommended, offering an incredibly beautiful view of the sea and a variety of international cuisine. Also definitely worth a visit are Elements Ibiza Restaurant in Sant Joan de Labritja and Pura Vida Beach Club & Restaurant in Santa Eulalia. All these restaurants are located on beaches and offer top-notch service and excellent cuisine.

If you're looking for an excellent bar, just stroll along Playa d'en Bossa. These bars entice with a great atmosphere right on the sandy beach, offering exclusive drinks and delicious food. The relaxed vibe at Blue Marlin in the bay of Cala Jondal is also perfect for a top holiday experience. Here, you can really treat yourself to delicious food and drinks. Beach bars are generally very popular in Ibiza and definitely worth a visit!

For cocktail lovers, we have a special tip: In Ibiza Town, you can find the best mojito. In a small side street, there is Arte del Mojito - run by a friendly couple who own the little shop and serve the truly best mojito. An absolute insider tip and our #4 recommendation, well worth a try.
