From Miami to the Bahamas
Arrived at Your Dream Destination in No Time
While Miami offers absolutely dream beaches at your feet, when do you ever get the chance to pop over to the Caribbean? The Bahamas are only about 300 kilometers by air from Miami, Florida. So it's a good reason to spend a day or two outside of Florida and explore one of the most beautiful Caribbean islands. Numerous operators offer such a day trip.
Since you'll only need a valid passport for entry that is at least six months valid at the time of travel, the process is completely smooth. The journey starts at the port of Fort Lauderdale, about 46 kilometers from Miami. In most packages, the transfer between your hotel in Miami and the port where your journey begins is already included. So you can easily hand over the organization of your day trip to others without worrying about anything.
Afterward, you either go to the Bahamas by speedboat or a ferry, docking in Freeport, a lovely town in Grand Bahama. Depending on which crossing you choose, you will arrive in the Caribbean paradise within 2.5 to 4 hours.
Due to the travel time, most excursions start between early morning and noon, so you'll arrive in the Bahamas around lunchtime. After a few hours stay, you head back toward Florida in the evening, so you might want to consider spending a night at a hotel in the Bahamas - this way, you can easily turn your day trip into a two-day trip and enjoy a little longer in the Bahamas. Who really knows when such a fantastic opportunity will arise again? Alternatively, you can also fly from Miami to the Bahamas. While round-trip flights are somewhat more expensive, they allow you more flexibility compared to Freeport and get you to the Caribbean in about 30 minutes, depending on your chosen location.
The Bahamas - A Paradise on Earth
Even though the Bahamas are certainly known to all of us, no one wants to buy a pig in a sack. For this reason, I am giving you a little preview to increase your wanderlust. Dreamy pictures of powdery white beaches, shade-giving palm trees, and turquoise waters immediately appear before our inner eye. It has also been increasingly talked about that you can swim with pigs in the Bahamas. Recently, I held a contest for such a trip, and winner Sina told me about her experience swimming with the pigs in the Bahamas. The Bahamas are truly the epitome of paradise: If one does not appreciate nature here, then there is truly no help for them.
You will have a wonderful experience on Grand Bahama Island, where you will be arriving. It is considered the second most important island in the Bahamas and still shines with untouched nature despite tourist spots. Now, I will let the video speak for itself. See for yourselves what awaits you on a trip to this Caribbean paradise.
