So Fascinating is the Tallest Building in the World
The Burj Khalifa is THE landmark of Dubai. What you need to know about the tallest building in the world and how to plan your visit effectively is covered in this article.
Are you spending a vacation in Dubai and want to make sure not to miss one of the city's main attractions, the Burj Khalifa? Then keep reading to discover exciting facts and essential information about the tallest building in the world. Here you will also find the opening times, ticket prices, and affordable options.
Impressive Burj Khalifa
Burj Khalifa - An Architectural Marvel
To begin, I have compiled the most interesting and impressive information about the Burj Khalifa for you:
- The Burj Khalifa is 828 meters tall, making it the tallest building in the world.
- It was built in just six years, between 2004 and early 2009.
- It is the symbol of the emirate and one of the key attractions in Dubai.
- The flagship of the emirate is located in Downtown Dubai, right next to the Dubai Mall.
- The Burj Khalifa houses offices, apartments, suites, restaurants, and several observation decks.
- 57 elevators operate in the tallest building in the world, quickly transporting visitors and residents to over 160 floors.
- The At.Mosphere Restaurant, part of the Armani Hotel, is located on the 123rd floor, making it the highest restaurant in the world.
A Unique Spectacle: The Dubai Fountain
A special highlight at the tallest tower in the world is the Dubai Fountain, the water show at the Burj Khalifa. Starting at 6 PM (or in winter from 7 PM), the huge fountain at the Dubai Mall begins its show every half hour - the water jets dance to Arabic, Asian, classical, and European tunes in the basin in front of the Burj Khalifa.
The fountains shoot over 30 meters high in time with the music while the tower sparkles in the background. In these moments, the bustling life here comes to a halt, everyone pulls out their cameras, enchanted by the water show. If you are in Dubai, you must take some time one evening to enjoy this unique spectacle. If you want to avoid the crowds at the most popular viewing spots, you can alternatively book a boat tour, where you can enjoy the best view of the Dubai Fountain Show.
At the Top - Fantastic Views
Seeing Dubai from above - for many, this is an absolute dream that is very easy to make come true. After all, you have the chance to view the city from the 124th and 125th floors from a completely different perspective. This is where the observation deck and a large open terrace are located.
You also have the option to visit the observation deck At the Top Sky on the 148th floor. Tickets for the two-story observation deck At the Top and At the Top Sky can be bought on-site, but same-day tickets are much more expensive than those purchased in advance. Therefore, book your tickets at least one day ahead to save a lot of money. Online tickets can be picked up on-site and are valid for a specific time you choose in advance. Be sure to arrive on time, as the ascents are strictly scheduled.
Best Time to Visit the Burj Khalifa
It is best to book your ticket for 5 PM; then you can see the city while it's still light and enjoy the breathtaking sunset directly afterward. After that, you will have the chance to experience the dancing water fountains of the fountain show. While there is a set time for your ascent, you can decide when to come back down. This way, you can accomplish three goals at once and make the most of your visit. These times are very popular, so you need to book a bit further in advance to ensure you get tickets.
Prices for the Burj Khalifa
You can choose from the following tickets: An Burj Khalifa ticket for the 124th and 125th floors can be purchased online starting at €40 (entry between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM and from 8 PM to 11 PM), while those wishing to experience a sunset will pay from €64 for their ticket if booked in advance. If you want to go up to the 148th floor, your ticket will cost approximately €100, depending on the time.
