Several dozen vacationers have already gathered in the afternoon to take advantage of Happy Hour, where two beers cost the price of one. Vendors sneak along the streets, arms laden with sunglasses in every imaginable neon color, hats, and other trinkets that tourists like to buy after two or three beers. A few sunburned guys are just coming back from Playa de Palma, slightly swaying, and start singing the next Mallorca hit before laughingly heading to the next bar's counter.

With the Mallorca Opening in April of each year, the main season at Ballermann begins. Vacationers from around the world, especially from Germany, flock to Schinkenstraße and, of course, to the Beer King. The age of the partygoers doesn't matter here because people of all ages celebrate side by side - this is a true Ballermann phenomenon. Music and alcohol just connect. While the atmosphere in the morning and afternoon can still be described as relatively calm, the vibe heats up with the time of day and outside temperatures. Sports broadcasts, autograph sessions, performances by Mallorca celebrities - there is usually some event happening every evening. The Beer King first opened as an open-air disco 30 years ago, in 1988, for everyone who wants to come and celebrate. In 2002, the first major renovation occurred, creating a spacious indoor area that allowed parties to go late into the night. In the following years, video screens were installed to show sports events, such as soccer games, and another stage was built for artists to heat up the party-goers.

Prices at the Beer King are moderate. It seems like there's some Happy Hour going on at any time of the day or night, where drinks are even cheaper. The Beer King has come up with a special offer for groups: groups with at least 30 people can book a flat rate for 2, 3, or 4 hours and drink as much as they want during that time. This offer demonstrates what the Beer King's primary goal is: to party until you drop, and no one thinks of the hangover at first. After all, it's vacation! Those who still can meander back to Playa de Palma or their hotel, the rest just keeps partying.
